Movie night is one of my favorite nights of the week. The entire month of November and December have been crazy busy, that's why I enjoy that one night a week that we just get to kick back at home and relax. You would think that with five kids underfoot, it could get to hectic, but really we are used to always having the kids over to play with Julius so it's actually a really nice time. This week we got together to watch our favorite movie of the moment Minions. The Minions Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack launched on 12/08/15 and we got it the same day it came out because we saw it in theater and we were anxiously waiting for it to release in DVD.

Seriously, who doesn't love the minions? We've been playing the movie non-stop since getting it and for this week's Minions © 2015 Universal Studios. All rights reserved. movie night, I prepared a quick and easy snack to enjoy with the kids. A snack, most likely a dessert, it always fun on movie night but because I was working I knew it had to be something I could make in a hurry. This yummy apple crisp is perfect fall movie night dessert because it's sweet, warm and comforting on these cool nights! Illumination Entertainment's Minions movie is the inspiration for my recipe because I could totally see the minions loving this recipe as much as they love their bananas. If you haven't purchased your Minions movie, visit the website to see which retailers near you have it.

Easy Apple Crisp
four apples
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup of quick cooking oats
1/2 cup softened butter
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
whipped cream for topping
Preheat oven 375 degrees and grease an 8inch square baking pan w/ shortening. Now peel the four apples and slice, I prefer thinner slices. Once all apples are sliced place them into the baking pan and let's begin with the mix. Stir all other ingredients in a medium bowl until it's all mixed together and pour on top of the apples. Bake for about 35 minutes or until golden brown, top with a dollop of whipped cream (or ice cream) and serve hot.

I can assure you that this apple crisp is as delicious as it looks. It's so warm, gooey and sweet. I only indulge in a small bowl but the kids love a large bowl of it. When you're in the mood for an even sweeter treat, top it with vanilla ice cream and prepare for a little bit of heaven.

What better way to end a long week than with a bowl of this delicious crisp and the Minions on Blu-Ray/DVD?

Time to enjoy movie night with my crew, don't forget the Minions Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack also makes a great last minute gift idea, and you most definitely need a copy of your own. These tiny, goggle-eyed guys have my heart and I can't wait to sit down and enjoy my apple crips while laughing at all their antics. Happy holidays friends!
