Having a pet is a lot of work and it's something that's definitely got to be considered before getting one. For years and years my family didn't get a pet because we knew that we were not prepared for the responsibility of one. But sometimes fate steps in and let's you know that you are in fact ready. Cat (formerly known as Buttercup) came to us on the way to the pound. Someone (who shall remain nameless) had gotten her for their kid as a kitten and as soon as she began to get bigger they decided they were suddenly "allergic". Sound familiar? It's one of the many excuses people use once the novelty of a pet has worn out or once a small animal starts to get bigger.
She was packed up and sent to the pound, and they couldn't even take the time to do that but asked my boyfriend to come by and do it for them. Being a good enough guy he brought her home so we could try to find her a suitable owner on Facebook instead of sending her to high kill shelter. It only took a few days for us to figure out that we wouldn't be able to let her go, especially to the people that kept replying to our ad. That's how we knew she was ours, when nobody was good enough to take her. She's part of our family now and I do spend a good portion of time making sure that she's happy and healthy. Today I want to share a few of the ways that we pamper Cat so she can have a good quality of life.
Grooming: There's all kinds of ways to groom your cat: potty wipes, baths, nail care and so much more. But our favorite is the daily fur brushing. It's one of the only things that Cat lets me do with her, we tried the potty wipe once and it did not end well. She seems to like it enough to allow me a few minutes of brushing while she purrs away and the bonus is that it cuts down on her shedding. Anything that cuts down on the daily vacuum time is a big help to me.
Play time: One way to keep your pet cat healthy and fit is to keep them really active. Cat has many toys that get her chasing and running all over the house. She loves to pounce on anything that moves and I really enjoy throwing stuff around for her to chase. A really active playtime later leads to a long naptime which is beneficial to both of us.
Love: Cat isn't the friendliest of cats, I think most cats aren't, and she is pretty good at giving a scratch if you happen to hold her for too long. But once in a while I get to cuddle her. Giving your pet love is as important as the love we give our kids. Pets are basically children with fur.
Portion control at feeding time: Something that we've found to be a struggle with our dog that we don't want to have with Cat is the problem of weight gain. Our doggy, who came to us right before Cat as a stray, is a bit of a chubster. That's why SHEBA® PERFECT PORTIONS™ is a really great option for us. SHEBA® PERFECT PORTIONS™ is the perfect portion for feeding your cat or kitten. It ensures you do not overfeed your cat, because the product includes the right amount of ounces for each mealtime.
SHEBA® PERFECT PORTIONS™takes the guesswork out of trying to find out how much to put in the cat bowl. When it's feeding time all I have to do is crack open a package and put it in a bowl.
You can find SHEBA® PERFECT PORTIONS™ and Meaty Tender Sticks at Walmart including:
SHEBA® PERFECT PORTIONS™ Paté In Natural Juices Savory Chicken Entrée

SHEBA® Meaty Tender Sticks with Chicken: savory snacks that will keep your feline companion meowing for more. These are a great treat for Cat for when she's behaving. Most people don't give their cats treats but let me tell you that she loves these meaty sticks.
