Healthy Skin is Beautiful Skin

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of NEUTROGENA® and #WeAllGrow Latina Network. The opinions and text are all mine.

They say it's never too late to start taking care of your skin but in my case I have always believed that it's never too early. I started taking care of my skin when I was a teenager. I started a skin regimen at a young age more out of necessity because I was the only one in the family that was graced with skin problems. The women in my family, everyone but me, all have really good skin. I'm the only one of us four that has ever had to deal with blemishes and acne. But as with everything, there's been a silver lining to my having to tackle skin problems at a young age, and that is that my skin will be younger longer. Not only have I always taken extra care to keep my skin clear and healthy, I have incorporated anti-aging products into my regimen because it's never too early to fight the signs of aging.
I know that skincare can be confusing, especially when you're young and don't know where to begin. here are a few tips to help you maneuver the skincare aisle at your local store and find the right products for your skin.

ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip Chilly Chill

ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip in Chilly Chill is a plummy brown liquid lipstick in the traditional Ultra Matte liquid lipstick formula that is my favorite from the ColourPop range. Chilly Chill is a little bit browner than my favorite shade Beeper but it's a very wearable brown and I am glad I ordered this to add to the rest of my brown/taupe ColourPop lippie collection.

ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip in Molly

This is the ColourPop Lip in the shade Molly, which is a newer shade from the Ultra Satin Line. Molly is a mid-tone plum lilac shade that looks like a cool toned pink lavender on my skin tone. This new formula of lippie from ColourPop is a lot more comfortable than their Ultra Matte formula but I still prefer the ultra matte formula because it lasts a lot longer. But for the low price of only $6 per tube, you really can't go wrong with any ColourPop lipstick.

Add a Bold Pop of Color to Your Day

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #ListerineBOLD #CollectiveBias
Spring and summer are all about bright and bold pops of color, but for someone like myself whose wardrobe consists of 100 dark outfits, it can be really hard to be a part of that trend. I know that I am not going to be 100% confident in clothes that are bright and colorful, instead I look for an easier way to add that bold pop of color to my look. How can we add a little bit of bold color to our day and look, while still staying within our comfort zone?
1) Choose your outfit
2) Use LISTERINE® FRESH MINT® Antiseptic Mouthwash, which kills 99.9% of bad breath germs and germs that lead to gum disease (in lab studies) and give your 24 hour germ protection (when used twice a day) to give your entire mouth and entire overhaul.
I use LISTERINE® FRESH MINT® Antiseptic Mouthwash everyday as part of my oral care routine just like I wash my face and moisturize.
LISTERINE® FRESH MINT® Antiseptic Mouthwash takes care of my teeth and gives me the confidence of fresh breath, important when you work face-to-face with people all day.
3) Now that we have fresh breath and healthy gums we can tackle the pop of color, and that would be via a very bold lip color. I grabbed a few of the brighter shades I found in my moms stash and tried them each out to see which one I would feel most comfortable wearing for a day out. A lot of times we can be scared to wear a bright shade. That's why I recommend trying a few shades that you normally would not at home, and then wearing it out. Don't worry, you can pack your daily nude lipstick in your bag in case you get uncomfortable at any point.
I never wear pink lipstick but this one is very pretty and definitely adds a pop of color to my face.
A purple berry is another way to go when looking for a great pop of color on the lips.
Reds are a great way to add a pop of color to your look, and a red lipstick is just a classic.
Since I was looking to really step out of my box, I decided that my bright pop of lipstick would be the bright pink.
4) The last step in today's look is to pop a LISTERINE® POCKETPAKS® strip into my mouth, for added fresh breath. LISTERINE® POCKETPAKS® kill 99.9% of bad breath germs (in lab studies) and dissolve instantly so they are a convenient and discreet way to freshen breath on-the-go, and I always have a pack in my bag.
Now I am ready to head out, with a bold pop of color on the lips and the confidence of knowing my breath is fresh and clean.
Find LISTERINE® FRESH MINT® Antiseptic Mouthwash and  LISTERINE® POCKETPAKS® strips at Walmart, use this coupon to save on your next purchase.
I hope you have enjoyed my idea for adding a bold pop of color to your day by adding a bright lipstick to your look. We don't all have colorful clothing and that's okay, we can still rock a little bit of bold on our lips during the spring and summer months by adding a pop of color to our lips. Do you have any tips for adding a pop of bold to our everyday look?

ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip in London Fog

This is not a full fledged review, I'm just sharing swatches on my lips of ColourPop's Ultra Satin Lip in London Fog. I think it's obvious that I love ColourPop's Matte lippies and now this new formula, a lot. They stay on for hours-on-end, are very comfortable and this new formula is a lot less drying. Yes, I am a fan. And I am also a fan of this shade London Fog.

25 Minute Curls

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #GoodyBrushEd #CollectiveBias
My hair is a huge part of me and I've always loved styling it. But now that I'm working I've had to learn how to cut back on that styling time by a lot. Since it's pretty long, curling and styling my hair could take me over 45 minutes on an average day. But I've learned how to cheat the style and still achieve a really great look. How did I cut my curl time by half? Let me show you!

Step 1: using the Goody Clean Radiance Paddle Brush, I brush out what is leftover from yesterday's curls or bun. The Goody® Clean Radiance™ brush has Copper bristles that massage the scalp and work through the hair to reduce buildup and restore your hair's natural moisture balance. Plus it's a really beautiful brush that looks great on my vanity.

Step 2: now we will take out hair and make a ponytail.
Step 3: starting from one side, we begin to curl the hair by taking small sections of hair. For this style I only curl from about mid-length.
Continue to curl all around the head.
Once you have finished your curls should look like this.
I've been curling my hair for a long time so getting these curls done only takes me about 15 minutes.
Step 3: Taking the ponytail out now we will run our hands through the curls to loosen them up. I flip my hair upside down and really run my hands through my scalp to give my hair more volume from the roots out.
Step 4: now I like to take either a salt spray texturizer spray or some dry shampoo and really spray it into the roots and into some of the curls to give them a chunky, messy look.
This is what the finished curls should look like.
This is where I might use a little bit of spray to hold the curl and fix my new bangs.
And we are done curling and styling our hair in about 25 minutes.
This is my go-to style and by using the ponytail method I really have cut it down by half. Even if I do happen to have the luxury of time, I rarely even go back to my old method of curling. Now I can wear my favorite style while saving a lot of time that I can enjoy doing something else.
My hair is a very important part of me and I have always taken very good care of it. One of the best ways to care for my hair is to use tools that don't overdamage it. Goody Brushes are some of the tools that I use to keep my hair, shiny, healthy and tangle free. Let me introduce you to just three of the brushes from the Goody Brush line.
  • Goody Gelous Grip Paddle Brush: A comfortable to use brush that helps with daily styling.
  • Goody Amp It Up Medium Round Brush:  This vented brush improves drying time and helps with styling especially in layered styles.
  • Goody Clean Radiance Paddle Brush: Show off beautiful, healthier looking hair with Goody® Clean Radiance™. Copper bristles massage the scalp and work through the hair to reduce buildup and restore your hair's natural moisture balance. The copper bristles reduce natural buildup that is produced over time, less buildup in hair will leave hair looking healthier and more radiant.

I picked up my Goody Brushes at Walmart, where they have the best prices on my hair needs, and they have so many to pick from! I like being able to have so many options so I can pick and choose the one that works with my style of the day. I hope that you have enjoyed my 25 Minute Curls Tutorial. Winter Greys Featuring Essence Cosmetics

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #TargetYourEssence #EssenceAtTarget #CollectiveBias

Have you heard? Essence Cosmetics has arrived at 500 select Target locations nationwide. I am not new to Essence because my mom is a beauty junkie who has known about them for years, and thanks to her I have gotten caught up in the excitement of this Target launch. Essence Cosmetics is a German brand that was launched in 2001 and since then it has gained an international following for having affordable, on-trend cosmetics that bring out the beauty, confidence and strength in any woman (or man). It's a super-fun brand that really let's you express your personality while not breaking the bank. That for me is one of the best aspects of Essence Cosmetics. If you have followed this blog for any length of time, you know that I am a drugstore beauty lover, who very rarely shops high-end. Essence Cosmetics is a brand for all of us, no matter our budget and I was so excited to get to try some of their new Target items out and create a winter look for you.

We were very excited to find that the Target display for Essence Cosmetics is a large one that features their full range: eyes, lips, nails and more! Because of the excitement, the display was already pretty bare but we scored enough items for this complete look. Here I share an easy, winter-grey look featuring Essence Cosmetics.
1) Essence Cosmetics Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel Mascara helped me shape my brows and keep them in place. This product has a very small wand, perfect for shaping (very similar to a high-end product that does the same thing) and is super affordable.

2) Using the Essence All About Greys Eyeshadow Palette I created a two shadow eye look that is very cool and wintry. I used the third shade in the bottom row for the crease and the third shade on the top row all over the lid. Simple.

3) Using the Sun Club Matt Bronzing Powder I warmed up the face and cheekbones. This is a huge pan that should last me a lifetime, I love the warmth it gave my face.

4) I lined both the top and waterline using the Gel Eye Pencil. This is one of my favorite items so far, it's super soft and went on smooth, even and extremely black.

5) The Essence Lip Pencil in Honey Berry is a beautiful berry shade that I used as all over color on my lips. I topped that with Essence Sheer  Shine Lipstick in Sparkling Miracle. This gave my lips a shine and made them feel very moisturized and soft.

6) On my nails I wore Essence The Gel Nailpolish in Rock My World.

That completes my first look featuring Essence Cosmetics products that you can now find at select Target locations nationwide.

I know that all of you are as excited as I am to welcome Essence Cosmetics to Target (select locations). I look forward to finally getting to know more about this range and really trying out all of their products. I love how affordable and fun this range is and I know that it's going to be a blast to get to know them even better than before.

Have you spotted Essence Cosmetics at your local Target? Which items are you most excited to try out: eyes, lips or nails?
