The Perfect Hot Cocoa Recipe - 5 Eyeliners and a Gloss

The Perfect Hot Cocoa Recipe

This is part of a sponsored campaign with the California Milk Processor Board and Latina Mom Bloggers. However, all opinions expressed are my own.

Feliz Navidad! It's only a few days away and we are spending those days at home enjoying great family moments. We all know the holidays are all about enjoying great food, great conversations and great memories. When it comes to creating a great holiday memory, all you need are the fixings for hot cocoa. Today's recipe is inspired by the Cocoa Caliente recipe which you can find at TomaLeche.com. We usually make our hot chocolate using premixed packets, k-cups and Abuelita's chocolate. This was the first time we made hot cocoa using cocoa powder, and vanilla, and it was amazing. You can make yourself a delicious cup of hot cocoa in 2 minutes, check out just how easy it was to make this yummy cup!

Recipe for one cup of hot cocoa

1 cup of milk
1 tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa
1 tablespoon vanilla
2 tablespoons sugar

Preparation

Mix all ingredients into a microwave-safe cup. Heat for 2 minutes and stir generously to mix the rest of the cocoa really thoroughly into the milk. Add a candy cane for an extra holiday flair and top with bunches of marshmallows. Enjoy!

The authentic cocoa flavor of this hot cocoa is so good, you will want to make yourself a cup every day from now on. I also think that the vanilla gave it that extra special twist. I loved it and enjoyed two cups all by myself. We made so much of this last night that we have already run out of marshmallows and milk. Need to make a store run immediately, for what is Christmas without marshmallows and hot cocoa?

Milk is an integral part of many of the holiday recipes we have been making. If you buy as much milk as we do, you will want to clip this $1 OFF coupon to help you save on your next purchase. You can also stay in touch with Toma Leche on Facebook, where they are sharing many more great milk based holiday recipes.

We can't wait for Christmas morning and the new memories to be made. Happy holidays!
