In our school district, the kids go back to school in less than 3 weeks. Summer sure went by in a blur! While we still have tons of fun summer activities to do, it's also time to start preparing for the new school year. If you're a parent you know that about 3-4 weeks before school starts it's time to start shopping for new clothes, shoes, backpacks and supplies. My son is going to a uniform-only school and I've been doing some online shopping for his uniforms and shoes.

With that taken care of, it's time to start taking care of school supplies. Along with the supplies for his own personal use, I always pick up a few supplies for the classroom. Our school requests help from parents throughout the year for items like: facial tissue paper, paper towels, hand sanitizer, pencils, glue, etc. A great time to stock up on all these items for less is during the back-to-school season. I like to look for sales or other special promos like Double Box Tops.

Box Tops For Education is a program that gives schools money in return for collecting the small Box Top stamps on select products. Each Box Top gives the school .10, which can add up a lot of extra money for our local schools. My sons school collects Box Tops at the end of each month and will send us reminders throughout the year to keep an eye out for those Box Tops. In my house, we're already trained to check packages for Box Tops before throwing them out.

School supplies: throughout the next week school supplies will be going on sale. Every time I shop I will pick up a few school supplies and add them to the basket.

Facial Tissue paper: one of the items most requested by my sons school is tissues. With allergies, colds and sniffles, the kids in each class go through tissue boxes so fast.
