I love holiday parties and eating yummy holiday appetizers, but I don't love the cooking that they involve. But you know me, I always looks for easy ways to make delicious foods and today is no exception. Today I am sharing one of my all-time favorite appetizer ideas for all those holiday parties, and it's something everyone will love. Rich's SeaPak Shrimp Spring Rolls, which I purchased in the frozen foods section at Walmart, make the perfect party snack because they are scrumptious and easy to make. You won't need to spend a lot of time or money when you have Rich's SeaPak Spring Rolls on the menu, just check out how easy and fast we prepared some today along with some homemade sweet & sour sauce!
So let's say you are running late because you spent too much time looking for those new shoes. You have 15 minutes until your guests, who are very hungry, start to arrive and you haven't even pre-heated the oven. What can you make? Rich's SeaPak Shrimp Rolls with some homemade sweet & sour sauce to the rescue! The 16 pack of spring rolls already comes with some really yummy sweet and sour sauce, but that one is a little bit spicy so I like to make my own so the kids can enjoy the rolls too.
So let's'ts get started on this yummy appetizer. Place your spring rolls into a cookie sheet and put in the oven for 7-8 minutes.
Using staple kitchen items you can prep this during the time you are heating the SeaPak Spring Rolls.
- white sugar: 3/4 cup
- white vinegar: 1/3 cup
- water: 2/3 cup
- soy sauce: 1/4 cup
- ketchup: 1 1/2 tablespoons
- corn starch: 2 tablespoons
- brown sugar: pinch for extra sweetness
Directions: Place all ingredients into a medium saucepan, bring to a boil an stir until sauce has thickened. Allow to cool and place into serving container. Makes 2 cups.
By this time your spring rolls should be nice and toasty. These are now ready to place on a serving dish of your choice. I also defrosted the sauce that came in the package and placed both side-by-side. Another sauce that would have made the perfect companion would have been hot mustard, but I was missing a few ingredients. I will have to stock up on those so I can have a little dipping bar next time I make these.
Today I let everyone pick out there favorite of the two sauces and mine won by three votes!
In less than 10 minutes and without breaking a sweat you will have a delicious holiday appetizer that is sure to delight your guests and you! I love spring rolls and can have them on a daily basis, so it's something I am always happy to prepare. No one even knows that they were frozen because they come out so crispy and delicious.
