10 Minute Makeover Cleaning Tips with Pledge® and Windex®.

As you know, I recently moved to my first apartment. With this move have come many lessons, and one of those lessons is that there is no one else to keep the place clean but me. Now that I do live alone and that I am in charge of my own place, I had to choose to live in a messy place, or to clean it up and live much happier. I've decided that living in a clean apartment is much better than a filthy one and in order to keep in nice and tidy I have gone to some of my mamas holy grail cleaning products, which includes Pledge® and Windex®.

I grew up with the scent of Pledge® and Windex®. Every weekend my mom used to clean up our house and those scents always brought a sense of cleanliness and comfort. We knew that by the time my mom finished cleaning in the afternoon, the whole house would be spotless and that we would then be able to go for a round of ice cream. Once we were big enough to help her clean, we each got a small allowance as well. 

These days I am very busy during the weekends spending time with my little boy and instead I make time to clean my apartment every morning before leaving. When we get home we can then relax and enjoy our short evenings, instead of having to clean. Here are a few tips that I would like to share with you so you can get your place in shape in only ten minutes. Everyone has at least 10 minutes right? 

My mom always taught me that you get what you pay for when it comes to your cleaning products. Sure, you can find products that are cheap, but how many times will you have to do the job before it's done right? Now that I have my cleaning products, I begin by giving all the glass in my apartment a quick wipedown with Windex®. No other glass cleaner cuts through water stains as fast and easy as Windex®.

Then I take my favorite lemon Pledge® (there are now new scent available) and I go through and clean all my wooden surfaces of grime and dust. I love the scent of Lemon Pledge®. 

A newer Pledge® that was not around when I was growing up is the multitasking Pledge® Multi Surface Cleaner. This one takes care of just about every other surface in the house including delicate electronics. This also has a clean, fresh scent that lingers and makes my whole apartment smell clean. 

Once I have cleaned every surface in my apartment, I give it a quick vacuum and on the way out the door I take the trash with me. When my son and I come home at night, even if it's at 9:00p.m., I know that a clean apartment is waiting for me and that I can spend my night relaxing and getting ready for the next day.
