Starting The Year With a New Skincare Routine

Now that the new year and winter have officially arrived in southern California, I have had to make a few changes to my skin care routine. Even though California winters are relatively tame, we live near the mountains and it does get pretty chilly, which means very dry and flaky skin. Along with the dryness problems my skin also becomes very sensitive during the winter. It's like my skin decides to go postal during the winter and I am having to deal with dry, sensitive skin and my regular breakouts. How do I care for my skin gently, while still treating breakouts and give it the extra moisture it needs? One word: Neutrogena.  

My holy grail makeup wipes are the blue Neutrogena Makeup Remover wipes, but when my skin is this sensitive Neutrogena makes a very nice alternative. I love the Naturals Purifying Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes for these months and they really are more gentle on my skin but still do a great job of removing my makeup. This is the first step I take every night to cleanse my skin. 

Next, I use the Neutrogena Rapid Clear Cleanser & Oil Free Pink Grapefuit Moisturizer. These are a great combo and take care of my two problem areas, breakouts and dry, sensitive skin. I believe the Rapid Clear line is new to Neutrogena and for someone who is always suffering with acne, it's a great addition. 

Now I can take care of my breakouts at the same time as I am doing the rest of my skin care routine.

Once I'm done cleaning and washing my skin gets pampered with Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Moisturizer which is part of the Pink Grapefruit line.



This is another defense against breakouts and still gives my skin the lightweight moisture it needs during the night. 



This skin care routine will get me through the rest of winter and hopefully I can have cleared skin by the time spring arrives.
